We are one of Scotland’s leading independent chartered accountancy firms, with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. This year we are recruiting seven graduates onto our CA training programme, to be based in our Dundee and Edinburgh offices.

The continued success of the firm is entirely dependent on the calibre of the people we employ. That’s why, if you have got the ability and the motivation to succeed, we’ll provide you with an outstanding learning environment and a variety of career opportunities.

Training & Development
Your education and training commences on your first day with Henderson Loggie and continues throughout your career with us. Ongoing development is essential to ensure that you are able to meet the demands of the ever-changing environment, whether the changes be legislative or as a result of your progression within Henderson Loggie.

Throughout your training contract, your education will be provided by external and internal sources. Internal training is provided via in-house updates and on-the-job coaching. The knowledge gained through these training media coupled with the skills developed through your day-to-day work will enable you to progress successfully towards your end goal of being a qualified professional.

Mentor support
Our mentor support will help you throughout your training contract and ensure that you receive the training you need. Your mentor will monitor your progress and identify any additional training needs you may have, and will also co-ordinate any additional exam support that you may require.

Variety
Trainees are given the opportunity to work on a variety of clients, ranging from the smallest of sole traders and charities to major family-owned companies and public sector organisations. Whilst undertaking each assignment, you will cover a variety of tasks, allowing you to develop the skills necessary to becoming a successful accountant or tax professional.

Each day is different and brings new challenges, whether it be: learning how to do your first accounts preparation exercise or corporation tax computation; preparing projections for a client’s business plan; or meeting a client to discuss their business and give tax planning advice.

Career opportunities
At the end of the training contract, some of our newly qualified CAs will prefer to progress within their current department, others may move into a different discipline. Whatever the decision, new challenges will lie ahead and we will offer education and support all the way.

We also appreciate that sometimes your ambitions and goals may lead you to opportunities further afield. We have former employees working around the world, including those who have moved to Bermuda, for reasons we just can’t understand!
